AMANDUM
Friuli, Italy
Amandum wines are grown on the family estate in Gorizia, located between the ancient Isonzo and Vipacco valleys in Friuli, on the border with Slovenia. Protected by the Julian Alps to the north and influenced by the Adriatic Sea, the Isonzo River shapes the landscape and helps the vines thrive.
For three generations, the family has worked this beautiful land with dedication. It all started with a brave woman named Bianca, who began farming the land. Her daughter Anna continued this legacy, fearlessly exploring new ways to grow the family business. Now, the grandchildren, Enrico and Carlo Alberto Agostinis, are carrying on this tradition with the same passion. They dedicate their wine line, Amandum, to the memory and love of their mother and grandmother.
Region Notes
The Isonzo River formed the Isonzo plain, giving it a reddish clay layer rich in iron oxides and minerals. The high Julian Alps to the north protect Gorizia from cold winds, while the nearby warm Adriatic Sea creates a temperate climate. The Vipacco Valley’s cooler nights help develop the wine’s intense and elegant aromas, allowing the vines to thrive in the area’s excellent soil.
In 2013, these ancient vineyards produced grapes using natural, sustainable methods. By combining traditional farming practices with modern technology, they achieve low yields that result in exceptional wines.
Everyone has people, moments, places, and things that deserve love. With this in mind, we hope you enjoy the superb and delicious Amandum wines.
