FRENCH AMBUSH

Languedoc-Roussillon, France

Fantastic value wines from the Pays d'Oc. Made in the style of a quintessential Vin de Soif, thirst-quenching and easy-drinking. Chic and a bit playful like the girl in the red beret. The brand name is a play on the phrase French “en bouche” - French in the mouth. Don't be fooled by her unassuming demeanor - she's got provenance. Made by Bernard Julien of Domaines Julien & Fils (Chateau de Mus, Domaines Cabrials) from vineyards in some of the best sites around Béziers. It's a great time to get fluent in French!

The Domaines Julien & Fils is a private cellar, run by the Julien family, wine-growers and wine producers for 5 generations.

Region & Vineyard Notes

The Domaines Julien & Fils is located at about 20 km North of Béziers, in the area of Coteaux du Languedoc and Saint Chinian A.O.P. The refreshing Orb river, on its way down to the Mediterranean sea, flows across the estate. Béziers’ area is one of the driest in the Languedoc Roussillon, spreading along the foothills of the Massif Central and so exposed to winds of different origins, like the Tramontane coming down from the North West, which is very dry and sometimes a quite violent wind, and a wind coming from the South-East, carrying stormy rainfalls in.
