Tasting Notes

Ruby red with garnet reflections. Aromas of tobacco, wood and toasted coffee notes. Big alluring flavours of black cherry with notes of dark chocolate, good acidity and firm tannins. Wonderful with roasted red meat, game, dishes with spices and truffles, and ripe cheese.

Redivivo   \ray dee VEE vo\

Literally translated, redivivo means revived. For winemaker Ciro Urciuolo, this treasured wine represents rebirth; for him, for the brand and for all those who enjoy the vivacity of the Taurasi. To drink it is to be revived.

Aglianico    \ahl ee YAH nee koe\

Sometimes referred to as “the Barolo of southern Italy,” Aglianico is known for being massively concentrated in flavour, with generous tannins. Noted for its chocolate and red fruit aromas, an Aglianico will outlive many of the wines in your cellar.

Region Notes

Taurasi DOCG

Campania's Taurasi DOCG is based on the Aglianico grape, and can trace its origins back as far as 800 BC. The vineyards are within the high altitude area of Avellino, in soils composed of many elements, most notably limestone and volcanic ash. The wines from Taurasi have a tannic grip and slightly smoky finish unlike other Aglianicos, and this terroir composition is very much a contributing factor. The wines must be aged for three years before release with a minimum of one year in barrel. This DOCG’s Aglianico wines are famed for their larger-than-life personalities and full-bodied character.
