Tasting Notes

A complex mix of floral and fruity notes such as violets and wild red berries along with spicy notes that recall scent of tobacco and leather. The mouthfeel is full with velvety tannins. Intense and concentrated fruity and spicy flavours lingering on the palate with a persistent and long finish.

Votiva Story

A Votiva is an offering to the gods. The figurine depicted on the bottles of Votiva are inspired by similar objects found in the heart of Irpinia where the ancients worshipped the Goddess Mefite and made offerings to appease her. The Votiva line of wines from the Danimi cellar are their cru offering; a vow of love towards the land that the Urciuolo family has tended and handed down for generations. They represent the strength of the Irpinian territory and identity.

Aglianico    \ahl ee YAH nee koe\

Sometimes referred to as “the Barolo of southern Italy,” Aglianico is known for being massively concentrated in flavour, with generous tannins. Noted for its chocolate and red fruit aromas, an Aglianico will outlive many of the wines in your cellar.

Region Notes

Irpinia Campi Taurasini DOC

Grapes are grown in Mirabella Eclano. Irpinia Campi Taurasini is a sub region of the Irpinia DOC of central Campania. The classification applies to wines made from Aglianico grapes grown on the Campi Taurasi (the 'Taurasian Fields'). The difference between these two Aglianico wines is mainly one of style. Taurasi is meant to be structured, ageworthy and almost austere in its youth. It is sometimes called "The Barolo of The South". Irpinia Campi Taurasini wines are more likely to be elegant and capable of moderate aging, but also drinkable when young.
